Salford, United Kingdom Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Salford CAMHS is seeking to recruit an experienced child and adolescent psychotherapist to join our MDT made up of a number of disciplines including psychiatry, psychology, family and systemic therapists, and mental health practitioners.

As well as being a core team member, you will establish strong connections with an enthusiastic group of psychotherapists across CAMHS directorate for peer support.

You will receive regular supervision from a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist alongside training opportunities to continue your development.

The successful applicant will be confident and skilled to work independently and in collaboration with other professionals.

This is a part time post.

As a qualified Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist, you will be a registered member of the ACP. You will:
Work with children, young people and their families facing a range of mental health difficulties and challenges.

Undertake expert and holistic assessments, including risk assessments, and deliver outcome based long, medium and short-term psychotherapy to children and their families

Provide reflective supervision space for other psychotherapists and members of the MDT as appropriate.

Offer specialist consultation to colleagues in the MDT, across the CAMHS footprint and to other professionals involved in the child’s care. A comprehensive understanding of safeguarding is essential.

Contribute to the development of trauma informed pathways within CAMHS and across the locality as required.

As a senior member of the service, you will support the team in the delivery of therapeutic care coordination and evidence-based outcomes, ensuring that team processes and spaces for reflection are robust and well used.

You must therefore have good interpersonal skills and qualities to build good relationships and engage families with complex lives.
