As the Welcome Service Assistant, it’s your role to ensure that every aspect of our visitor’s experience is going to be a delight. We welcome enthusiastic flexible people who are willing to support one another across the whole portfolio, to ensure cover is available during holidays, training etc.

Weekend working will be a regular requirement in this role. This role is an hourly paid, fixed term role. Wherever possible we strive to offer a consistent working pattern, but we’re looking for flexibility as it may be necessary for us to alter this pattern from time to suit the needs of the business. We’d give you as much notice of this as possible.

What it's like to work here:The Welcome Team greets our visitors to our landscapes, coast, and beaches. The role is based at Hive Beach, Burton Bradstock, with some regular days at Stonebarrow on the Golden Cap estate. The team have an active presence roaming across other National Trust locations in West Dorset such as Lambert’s Castle and Hardy Monument.

What you'll be doing:As the largest conservation charity in Europe we work hard to raise funds, so that we can continue to care for all the heritage in our trust. Visitors are a vital part of what we do, so you’ll be responsible for ensuring that you provide an excellent service to all our visitors.

You’ll also be responsible for answering queries and making sure visitors can find everything they need for their visit. When interacting with our visitors, you’ll inform them of the amazing work we are doing and what their money is funding, promoting local projects or our national strategy.

You'll be happy working alone, outdoors and on your feet in all weathers, and have a flexible attitude to moving between sites. You'll identify tasks, prioritise your time and check in with the team. You'll be conscientious and take pride in looking after the daily operation and presentation of the place you work each day.
