Norwich, United Kingdom Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust Full time

We are seeking an highly engaging, motivated and compassionate Lived Experience Lead with a particular personal experience of In-Patient care to join NSFT's Model of Care+ Programme Team.

It has come at a critical but fortuitous time for NSFT going beyond the wording in LTP “For people admitted to an acute mental health unit a therapeutic environment provides the best opportunity for recovery. Purposeful patient orientated and recovery focused care is the goal from the onset”.

Our aim is to implement NSFT's Model of Care whilst aligning tothe 3 year National Quality Transformation Programme for inpatient care, driving up quality and safety to our 30 wards.

The Lived Experience Lead will be crucial to the programme by ensuring good quality co-production & engagement with stakeholders, particularly those in receipt of services throughout its implementation.

This new role is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who has the commitment and passion to support the professional development of staff, ensuring that all our staff have the appropriate skills to meet the needs of our service users, carers and relatives.

Experience of planning and delivering projects of work, to deliver outcomes, and have experience of working in partnerships with internal and external stakeholders would be desirable as well as experience facilitating training of large groups of professionals.

Working hours are social hours Monday to Friday hybrid working. A combination of a fixed term contract or secondments are available, If a secondment the support of your line manager is essential.

You will need to be approachable, able to flex to the competing demands of the programme to accommodate both internal and external changes and lead upon the delivery to the planned timescales. Your innovation and ability to support large scale change transformation will be key in driving forward changes to support the In-Patients services to ensure the delivery of high-quality care to our service users, carers and families.

You will need to be an excellent communicator, able to work to deadlines, with key stakeholders (service users, carers and families) engaged during the process. Your lived experience, passion, motivation and drive will be key to the successful delivery of the requirements of this leadership role.

In return, you will be supported in your personal development of evolving into specialisms of large-scale change transformation and leadership at a Trust-wide corporate level. You will have the opportunity to work on local, regional, and national initiatives.

Here at NSFT we pride ourselves on being a welcoming, talented, friendly and supportive team who like nothing better than sharing experiences and learning from each other. In addition to ongoing training and development opportunities, we are committed to providing an environment in which you can thrive.

Here at Norfolk and Suffolk Foundation Trust we recognise that expertise by experience is as value adding as taught expertise and that both must work respectfully and positively together for achieving sustained improvement in how Trust services are delivered.

Why work for us? We have challenges as a Trust, but we have ambitious aspirations, are pushing ahead with exciting transformation work and we need dedicated individuals to support us on our journey. We have strong, established nursing networks coupled with an exceptional leadership team who will ensure you are truly cared for and cared about.

Why Norfolk and Suffolk? The people here are warm and welcoming, you'll never be far from the beautiful coastline or Broads National Park. We're an hour and a half away from London and have an international airport in Norwich too. Our villages, towns and cities are packed full of history, independent cafes, shops and theatres. We have excellent shopping, eating out, top ranking schooling and affordable house prices too.

This role is a key part of this transformation and will help shape the Model of Care+ Programme (National Quality Improvement Programme) ensuring service user and carer participation and involvement are centre to all aspects of the Programme as it progresses.

The role will implement processes and systems to build and sustain inclusive and respectful participation in the Programme.

The role will enable service users and their families to contribute the value of their lived experience in a meaningful way to inform the Model of Care+ to be realised and implemented driven by high quality & safety improvements.

This role will take what should be business as usual the ‘custom and practice’ within Inpatient Services and scrutinise each sum of its parts to ensure that each interaction, treatment, intervention, and engagement produces positive measurable, best practice, evidence-based outcomes to the service user.

The post holder will provide their own inpatient lived experience and participation expertise within the Programme team.

The post holder will work
