**About the Role**:
The Cellular Genetics Programme is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Senior Administrator to provide and coordinate support for the Head of the Cellular Genetics Programme, Dr Sarah Teichmann and her team for a 2 year contract (with possible extension).

**You will be responsible for**:
In this role, you will provide comprehensive administrative / secretarial support service to the Head of Cellular Genetics by providing bespoke administrative support including inbox management, drafting curated responses and actions whilst also supporting senior personnel of the Programme. You will provide a professional service and be the main point of contact for diary management with respect to both internal and external customers. You will work very closely with the Executive Administrator who manages the Team Administrators and coordinates the support for the Head of Cellular Genetics Programme. Working with the Executive Administrator, you will develop, drive, and share best practices and process improvements for the Cellular Genetics Administration team.

You will have strong communication skills and a 'can-do' attitude. You will have previously provided a professional and high quality administrative service with recent experience of implementing and managing administrative systems, procedures and policies.

**About Us**:
The Cellular Genetics Operations team supports the cutting-edge research of all Faculty groups within the Cellular Genetics Programme. By providing multidisciplinary support, we maximise the delivery and scale of our Faculty science, which is focussed on mapping human tissues at scale. Cellular Genetics Operations is comprised of several teams supporting the following activities; team administration, research management, bioinformatics, laboratory support and sample processing, scientific illustration, project management and software development.

The Teichmann lab uses innovative single cell genomics technologies and computational methods to understand genes, proteins and cells in human health and disease. We have a long-standing interest in understanding global principles of gene regulation, protein interactions and have a particular interest in immunity. We are focused on using single-cell approaches, cell atlas technologies, and understanding human genetics at the cellular level. The team combines cutting-edge techniques in wet and dry labs and applies these methodologies for further understanding of human health, development and disease.

**Essential Skills**:

- GCSE in English and Maths (grades C or above) or equivalent qualifications/experience
- Providing comprehensive secretarial / PA or administrative experience at senior manager level, including complex inbox and diary management
- Experience of administrative systems and processes
- Excellent IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Appropriate level of data protection, security and confidentiality awareness
- Organising and managing events, meetings and seminars
- Excellent travel management
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Confident at communicating with all levels of staff verbally and written
- Exceptional organiser with the ability to prioritise and manage workload to balance conflicting priorities
- Ability to work independently, but also able to develop collaborative working relationships with other team members
- Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
- Confident using the Internet for background research
- Financial administration such as managing expense claims and credit card reconciliations

**Desirable Skills**:

- Relevant academic and / or professional qualification in administration or equivalent experience
- Previous experience of working in a scientific environment
- Basic knowledge of project principles
- Taking minutes

**Other Information**:
**Salary per annum: £39,853-£47,345**
