**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**Job Title: Senior Payroll Officer**

**Location**:BCM Headquarters, Glengall Street, Belfast

**Main Purpose of Job**:To perform the monthly payroll function for 250 staff and provide support to the Management

Accountant in respect of other financial matters e.g. financial analysis, costings, budgeting and ad hoc financial reports.

**Reporting Structure**:
Reports to: Finance Manager

**Main Duties**:

- Management, coordination and processing of the entire payroll function from start to finish which includes:
Checking accuracy of timesheets and collating on Excel from multiple sites to strict deadlines in order to ensure timely payment of salaries.

Timely submission of all HHRC returns and ensure timely payments to

HMRC.

Produce standard monthly reports and BACS file.

Processing all payroll forms.
Calculating sickness, pension, holiday pay according to contractual entitlements.

Liaising with other staff regarding payroll queries.
Liaising with HR regarding new starts, leavers, remuneration and conditions of service.

Preparation and posting of monthly wages journals.

Completing payroll reconciliations.
Managing the auto-enrolment function including enrolling new members, adjusting contributions, reporting to pension company.
Producing management reports as required e.g., absence costs, comparison to budget.
- Preparation of financial analysis as required by the Management

Accountant to support the preparation of management accounts.
- Preparation of ad hoc costings e.g., potential new projects.
- Preparation of reports to funders as and when required.
- Ability to assist other finance team members as and when required.
- Ability to develop or improve workflow to achieve greater efficiencies.
- Ability to contribute to the development of wages budgets for each site.

**GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONS**

Duration: Permanent

Hours: 35 hours per week

**Salary**: BCM Scale 34 - 37 (£32,535.99 - £34,573) per annum.

Holidays: 20 days per annum plus 12 Public Holidays.

Probation Period: Six months.

Pension: In line with current legislation, you will be automatically enrolled into the company pension scheme, providing you meet the relevant criteria.

No sick pay will be paid in respect of the first 3 days of any period of sickness absence.

- Ability to use initiative to develop new ideas and ways of accomplishing tasks.

**Salary**: £32,535.99-£34,573.00 per year
