**Job purpose**: The payroll officer plays a crucial role in supporting the operation and delivery of the group’s payroll, which strives to deliver accurate pay to all employees. The post holder is accountable for operating all systems and procedures in relation to payroll, time and attendance and pensions to support the Company’s Payroll requirements.

**The Role**
- Update and maintain the time and attendance system and ensure all aspects of attendance, eg, absence shifts, non-standard bookings are properly recorded, authorised as appropriate and coded for payroll purposes.
- Maintain time and attendance records for agency workers for payment and costing purposes. Advise Agencies of manhours.
- Ensure that time and attendance and payroll systems and procedures are updated in line with changes to terms and conditions of employment and business needs.
- To prepare, calculating and updating the fortnightly and monthly payroll for all employees to the required deadline ensuring that control schedules and mechanisms are maintained at all times.
- Prepare and distribute payroll reports and payslips as necessary.
- Make the necessary returns to Government departments eg, HMRC, DHSS, including RTI submissions.
- Process / advise on all queries for payroll and time and attendance information and to produce any required reports to meet these needs.
- Update payroll records as appropriate.
- Calculating overtime and other Company payments.
- Process paternity pay, maternity pay, SSP recording

**About you**
- Essential:
A minimum of two years’ experience processing high volume end to end payrolls
- Excellent Excel skills (v look ups, pivot tables etc)

Desirable:

- Membership of the CIPP (Chartered Institute of Payroll and Pension Professionals)
