Corporate Safety Champion

Corporate Nursing would like to invite persons with a lived experience of learning disability or autism to join us in our ambition to improve the lives of our patients and our staff here at UHNM.
You will be a positive role model who has a diagnosed learning disability or autism. Ideally, you should have experience of taking part in a project and presenting your work.
For the first year of the programme, you will be working with the team delivering the Oliver McGowan training package. Oliver was a young man who died as a result of lots of mistakes made by the people looking after him. UHNM have committed to make sure that we share the learning from Oliver's story and make improvements so that the patients who come to us with a learning disability or autism have the best experience possible.
As our lived experience expert, you will be part of this training, as well as being an advocate for our patients and staff. You will be able to not only share your own experience, but to look at our facilities, communications, processes and policies to ensure we are making all reasonable adjustments for all of our community.
