Senior Nursing Assistant- Quality and Safety

The post holder will be an essential member of the Quality and Safety team. The role will be key in the integration of the Corporate Quality and Safety Nursing Team and the Quality and Safety governance, compliance, audit and risk teams. The post holder will support the teams to ensure high quality safe care is delivered across the organisation. This will include supporting the harm free care agenda, supporting with the Care Excellence Framework process, CQC preparation and audits across clinical areas to provide assurances.
The main duties of the role are to
- Support the Quality and Safety Teams in the delivery of Quality Improvement Projects designed to reduce patient harm and increase patient satisfaction as identified by ward indicators, CEF and CQC action plans.

- Support the Quality and Safety Teams in the delivery of Quality Improvement Projects designed to reduce patient harm and increase patient satisfaction as identified by ward indicators, CEF and CQC action plans.
- Be able to work in a high pressured environment.
- Contribute to education sessions within remit of role
- Support with administrative tasks alongside the department secretary
- Carry out simple audits advised by Senior Sister/ AHP for Quality and Safety
- Seek the views of patients in their clinical area about their experience using the corporate tools available and support from the Patient Experience team.
- Liaise with teams to ensure CEF and CQC actions plans are reviewed and help to collate evidence.
- Have an awareness of the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and their inspection model.
- Support the ward and departmental teams through liaising and networking with Trust colleagues ensuring that the highest standards of clinical care are continuously measured and improved by involvement in the Care Excellence Framework.
- Have experience of working to conflicting deadlines and managing multiple tasks and priorities
- Be able to work in conjunction with the Clinical Governance Audit & Risk Department, and be involved in the implementation of Improvement Plans.
- There is a requirement to exchange verbal and written information with patients, staff and carers requiring tact and diplomacy. The post holder needs to ensure that all barriers to understanding are overcome by using differing strategies to meet individual need.
- Be able to liaise with clinical experts to ensure clinical practice reflects the current evidence base.
- Cascade information relating to clinical standards to promote ownership amongst the clinical teams.
- Participate and co-ordinate activities in the ward area to gain feedback on patient experience.
- To actively engage and contribute to Departmental team meetings.
- Support with the planning/scheduling of Quality Nurse Monthly Study days.
