As Promotional Category Planner for Beers, Wines and Spirits you’ll support the Senior Promotional Category Planner to deliver the overall value proposition for the Beers, Wines and Spirits category. You’ll get to work alongside a range of stakeholders, from Buyers through to Marketing and Commercial Operations teams and our supply base. With in-depth analysis and a keen eye for detail, you will sit at the heart of how we deliver against the corporate strategy, managing our promotional space to highlight value and innovation to our customers, and driving channel activations on behalf of the Beers, Wines & Spirits category.

**As a Category Planner you’ll**:

- Manage and be accountable for the execution of the promotional timelines, working cross functionally to drive best practice and right first-time delivery
- Support the implementation and communication of the Retail execution of our promotional plan, seasonal events and any other category in-store activation.
- Take ownership of the Convenience and Online Beers, Wines & Spirits promotional plan, ensuring representation in promotional space and maximising seasonal opportunities
- Build an optimised promotional space plan across Beers, Wines and Spirits secondary space
- Use data & insight to inform promotional plans and support on promotional space performance reviews to drive improvements
- Support the evolution of the Beers, Wines and Spirits promotional strategy, building our insight and knowledge base

**Our Beers, Wines & Spirits Team would love to see**:

- Solid understanding of retail, insight and customers with buying or promotions knowledge an advantage
- Organised individual who thrives on planning, prioritising and coordinating
- Excellent project management skills including independent thinking, goal setting and results orientation. Ability to manage and drive process timelines and dependencies
- Strong analytical skills including interpreting data into insights, problem solving, and building and presenting recommendations to stakeholders
- Excellent communication and ability to influence at all levels
- Ability to build great working relationships across Sainsburys and suppliers
- Ability to work within a team and make decisions best for the customer, providing support and challenge
- Initiative and drive to solve problems and improve processes
- Robust Excel and PowerPoint skills
