**Project Description**:
The space industry is one of the most rapidly growing industries in the UK. Every day, scientists and innovators are discovering new ways to use space technology to improve people’s lives. The SPINtern program provides an opportunity for students to get involved in this exciting industry and learn from some of the best minds in the business.

This research projects aims to perform an appraisal of the SPINtern program, particularly it seeks to uncover the level of impact that the programme had on previous graduates' professional choices and trajectories. This will be achieved by:
1. Conducting in-depth interviews with past participants to explore how the programme has influenced their career choices; and

2. Tracking the career pathways of all program alumni to examine how their professional trajectories have evolved following the programme.

The project will provide the following:

- Insights on how the programme has impacted on professional choices and trajectories for its participants.
- Identification of the career pathways of alumni, and the factors influencing these choices.
- Insights into how such programmes can better support the professional development of young people.
- An understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing past alumni
- Evidence that can be used to make the case for funding to support students at a pivotal early stage in their career.

This project will be carried out in collaboration with colleagues at the UKSA.

**Who we're looking for**:

- Experience in planning, scoping, and delivering research projects.
- Creativity, organisation, and an eye for details.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability and confidence to effectively communicate with individuals with a range of backgrounds and positions in organisations.

**Minimum Requirements**:

- Ability to analyse data and draw conclusions.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Package (MS Office Word, Excel, etc.)
- Good command of English, both oral and written
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently.

**Preferred Additional Requirements**:

- Knowledge of the space sector and/or business support organisations.
- Skills using data visualisation software (Power Bi, Tableau, etc)
- Knowledge of R/Python
