Due to an internal transfer, we are looking to recruit a new Clinical Lead for our Trauma Orthopaedic Therapy Team.

The post holder will provide expert clinical support for the trauma orthopaedic and Orthopaedic Supported Discharge (OSD) Teams as well as daily operational management. The post holder will also work with management and clinical teams within the orthopaedic division to ensure a seamless MDT approach to patient care.

ASPH together with Central Surrey Health, North West Surrey County Council, and other organisations form part of the North West Surrey Alliance who are currently embarking on a transformational program, revamping how and where care is offered to service users across the entire patient journey. As such, there will be many opportunities for developing the orthopaedic therapy services.

The post holder must be an effective team player who can motivate and engage the teams in times of change, as well as negotiate and manage conflicting priorities. The ability to develop, establish and maintain positive relationships both internally and externally to the trust is essential, as is the need to be resilient and innovative.

Applicants should have relevant skills and experience in the management and treatment of patients across the orthopaedic pathway, and have a degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy. They should have experience in staff management and supervision.

Registration with the HCPC is essential for this post.

Provide operational management and leadership to occupational and physiotherapy staff and therapy assistants working on the trauma orthopaedic ward and the community based Orthopaedic Supported Discharge Team including orthopaedic nurses working in this team.

Work in collaboration with the therapy manager, key divisional representatives, therapy clinical leads and other partner organisations in the planning and delivery of trauma orthopaedic therapy services at ASPH.

In conjunction with Therapy Manager for OT & PT, to develop service objectives and strategies for Trauma Orthopaedic Therapy Services.

To work collaboratively with the clinical specialists, clinical practice educators and other clinical leads to develop and implement education and training to meet the needs of the staff members, ensuring excellence of training within the specialities.

To manage specific projects within the therapies department, relevant to the role or personal development plan in line with and in response to the current and projected local, Trust and any national priorities

Contribute to the development of expanding 7 day working within the trauma orthopaedic therapy team. This post will be expected to participate in providing a therapy service across 7 days, including extended hours and weekend working as required
