**Apprentice Payroll Assistant**

**Salary **Up to £22,011 based on age***

**Position: Full time, 37hrs**

**Location: Birmingham/ Hybrid -**

With the appropriate on the job training, supervision and guidance, you will provide efficient and effective administrative support to People Team and Payroll Team and to ensure that all out 1100 plus employees are paid correctly and on time.

This is an exciting opportunity to learn all aspects of Payroll Processing in a forever changing environment with lots of projects to be part of. Supported by both the Payroll and People Team you will be able to see how payroll is processed from beginning to end and get a understanding of Payroll Administration.

**In housing you can make a real difference, the role of X will involve**:

- Assist with the administration of the organisation’s pension schemes.
- Carry out other associated pension administration tasks for the group.
- Assist with the processing and checking of payroll input into the HR/Payroll system.
- Process new starters, secondments, transfers, leavers and other amendments to salaries and employee data in compliance with payroll processes and requirements.
- Assist with the processing of voluntary deductions, pension contributions and court orders.
- Administer third party payments and be a point of contact for third parties.
- Assist with the updating of the payroll system in accordance with statutory changes.
- Carry out checks in line with National minimum wage/National living wage.
- Be a point of contact within the group for payroll queries.
- Support the Payroll Administrators with letters and adhoc tasks.
- Keep up to date with Legislation using websites and HMRC webinars.
- All work to be undertaken in line with the organisations policies and procedures, including Health & Safety, Customer Involvement, Equality and Diversity and Safeguarding
- Undertake any other duties commensurate with this post as reasonably requested by the Payroll Manager.
