We are seeking a reliable and motivated Head Porter to start immediately on a full-time basis for a 12-week period. Part-time positions will also be considered. The role involves working variable shifts, which may include weekends and bank holidays.

**Responsibilities**:

- Lead and manage a team of Porters to ensure efficient coverage for both day and night shifts, creating a welcoming environment for all visitors to the College.
- Organize shift schedules, ensuring that the Porter's Lodge is operational during the College's required hours. This may involve coordinating with agency staff as necessary.
- Address staff training needs, including areas such as first aid, access control systems, and CCTV.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date contact lists for staff, facilitating effective communication during emergencies.
- Manage the allocation of the College's parking spaces, collaborating with adjacent departments.

**We are looking for an individual who possesses the following qualities and experience**:

- Previous experience supervising or managing a small team, demonstrating strong motivational skills.
- Proficiency in creating staff rotas and scheduling.
- Sound understanding of customer service principles.
- Experience in security and knowledge of Health & Safety practices.
- Adaptability to working with a new team, as the entire team will be new and open to establishing effective ways of working.
