The Kitchen Porter has an essential role in the catering service, providing necessary support to other members of the kitchen staff. Workingin a fast paced, professional kitchen and learning from experienced colleagues, this position offers an excellent opportunity for a hardworking, self-motivated individual with high standards and an eye for detail, who is interested in a career in high qualityfood. Full training will be provided.

**Key Tasks and Duties**
- Maintain good standards of hygiene in the kitchen and food preparation areas.
- Assist the Kitchen with the receipt of deliveries, the checking of produce quality and quantity to ensure that it is correct and maintained. Ensuring food delivery temperature is appropriately recorded.
- Ensure that all kitchen equipment is clean and readily available for use.
- Ensure that the cleanliness of the kitchen floor is of the required high standard, using the mechanised floor scrubber as necessary.
- Maintain good order within the kitchen refuse area, both inside and outside.
- Take responsibility for ensuring the cleanliness and storage of crockery and cutlery.
- Report immediately all damages, breakdowns, defects to equipment, utensils, and fabric of working environment to the kitchen management team.
- Maintain the highest standards of personal hygiene and presentation, wearing the appropriate protective clothing.
- Undertake staff training as required by the Head Chef.
- Work as scheduled within a cleaning rota, ensuring that tasks are undertaken with initiative
- Any other tasks as requested by the kitchen management team.
- It is expected that the Kitchen Porter (along with all catering staff) will be present and available for all College Feasts and other Dinners.

The post is full-time 40 hours per week - working 5 days out of 7 including weekend working. Some additional hours may be required at busy times. Salary is £21,198- £23,144 per annum; annual leave entitlement will be calculated with reference to the lengthof time worked. Benefits include a contributory pension scheme.
