Job Overview:
We are seeking an enthusuatic, energetic and creative Worker with experience in working with young people to join our team and make a positive impact on the lives of young people. The role involves providing support, guidance, and opportun ities to children and teenagers in various settings including youth clubs and 1 to 1 work. The focus is on improving mental health and wellbeing and if applicants do not have level 2 or higher in youth work there is an expectation they will undertake this and other training. We will also consider less hours for the right applicant
**Duties**:
- Engage with young people in a positive and supportive manner
- Plan and deliver activities to promote learning and personal development
- Mentor and counsel individuals facing challenges or difficult circumstances
- Create a safe and inclusive environment for young people to express and enjoy themselves
- Collaborate with other professionals to address the needs of young people
- Monitor and evaluate the progress of individuals and adjust support as needed
**Experience**:
- Previous experience working with children or young people ideally in a youth work or group setting
- Ability to educate and inspire young individuals towards personal growth and problem solving
- Knowledge of mentoring techniques and special education practices
- Strong communication skills to build rapport with young people from diverse backgrounds, an interest in sport, arts ,music or outdoor activities is an advantage
- understanding the impact of trauma
- Understanding of safeguarding principles and child protection policies
