As our team grows we are needing to establish a full time finance function and also increase the administrative support we have for our insolvency cases.

**Full Job Description**

The role of Financial & Administrative assistant is to support the Finances and Human resources administration team in:

- Account Payables and Account Receivables management
- Processing Customer / Supplier invoices and payments into Sage / Quickbooks
- Assist and report to finance management in the development and improvement of internal systems and processes
- Bank reconciliations
- Maintenance of disbursement ledgers and accurate recording on our practice management system to enable reporting to be accurate and compliant with insolvency legislation and required practices
- Proposing monthly payment runs for review, ensuring payments are accurately processed in accounting system and set up in the bank for approval.
- Raising bills and setting up payments directly from our own bank accounts and those held by the Government’s Insolvency Service
- Weekly reporting on timesheet postings
- Carry out insolvency administration tasks whilst assisting senior staff leading to responsibility for aspects of client take on and established cases.
- Overseeing the issue of post out by 1pm via our outsourced digital postal system (Postworks)

You will develop your insolvency, restructuring and accountancy knowledge through both on-the-job experience and study and have the prospect to progress your skills and career and run with as much responsibility as you want to take on. You will be working underneath a Chartered Accountant and Licensed Insolvency Practitioner.

- Bookkeeping
- Preparation and submission of VAT returns
- Bank reconciliations
- Meeting immoveable deadlines
- Exercising authority over others
- Fully complying with rules in a regulated environment

You will be encouraged to continue with your professional qualifications. Other training will be provided as Continuing Professional Development is an essential part of every team member’s journey with Lucas Ross.

37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday, Permanent after 6 months probationary period

**Qualifications**

Maths and English Grade C or 5 and above

AAT level 2 or higher

**Experience and Competencies**

Accounting: 2 years (required)

Microsoft Office suite - outlook, word, excel, teams, sharepoint

Excellent telephone manner

Excellent communication skills

Excellent attention to detail (which will be tested at interview)

Highly numerate (which will be tested at interview)

Previous experience in a financially regulated firm would be advantageous
