Our client is a leading European distribution group for specialty chemicals and they are currently recruiting for a purchasing and logistics executive. If you have experience in purchasing and a background in logistics, we want to hear from you. This positionis based in Cambridge.

You will be responsible for carrying out all logístical activities related to purchase orders received and ensure all relevant parties, internally and externally are informed and consulted as appropriate.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Raise Purchase orders with the suppliers.
- Schedule, execute, and coordinate the movement of goods according to customers' demands, complying with incoterms and international law, organizational policy, and procedures.
- Manage the necessary documentation for the efficient, cost
- Effective and lawful execution of all import/export activities.
- Communicate as necessary with all export
- and import-related parties and suppliers to ensure efficient, positive, and lawful relations, support, and activities.
- Use personal judgment and initiative to develop effective and constructive solutions to challenges and obstacles in import/export activity and procedures.
- Monitoring Purchase order status closely to make sure procurement/stock replenishment is not at risk
- Execute distribution activities and liaise with Product Management and Warehousing on all matters influenced by or reliant upon import/export activities.
- Liaising with Accounts Payable to ensure that invoices match agreed prices with suppliers and 3PL.
- Investigate, plan and implement strategically effective and relevant transport methods, which are optimal for the needs of the organization and its suppliers and customers.
- Regularly check freight rates to ensure the most efficient and profitable choice is made. Keep PM informed of the current situation and update on market changes.
- Troubleshooting proactively and investigating any arising claims.
- Contributing to the best
- practice, process improvement, and company KPIs.

**Job Requirement**
- 3-5 years’ work experience in logistics and supply chain
- Experience with Incoterms 2020
- Knowledge of import and export procedures
- Must be adept in the use of MS Office 2000 or later and CRM & ERP experience (SAP)
