Here at the Coal Authority, we are looking for an organised and motivated individual to join us as a **Desktop Support Technician**. You will join us on a **24-month fixed term contract** basis, and In return, you will receive a competitive salary of **up to £30,000 per annum**.
We encourage applicants from anywhere in the UK - as long as you’re able to be in the Mansfield office for a minimum of 2 days a week and attend our regular team meetings in person, we embrace a hybrid working model as much as possible.

**About the Desktop Support Technician role**:
You’ll be pro-actively monitoring, supporting, preventing problems, maintaining, upgrading and fixing systems and services in accordance with business requirements and SLAs/OLAs. You’ll provide guidance to, and liaise with, the Digital team’s Service Managementand Service Desk functions to provide an excellent desktop support service to Coal Authority colleagues (on-site and remote), external customers and stakeholders.
**About our Desktop Support Technician**:
- Educated to degree level in Information Technology, or else have an extensive and proven track record in desktop or systems administration
- Organised and Motivated
- Able to work under pressure whilst self-managing a high and varied workload
- Be a strong communicator and able to relay technical issues to audiences of all abilities
- Demonstrable experience in automation and scripting (eg: PowerShell) and using systems management software (eg: Endpoint Configuration Manager/System Centre Configuration Manager) to build, manage and maintain the security of end user devices.
- Able to demonstrable technical experience in the management and administration of:
- Microsoft Windows desktop and server operating systems support, image creation and deployment
- Mobile Device Management - including deployments and upgrades
- Applications packaging
- Device encryption and endpoint management/protection
- Anti -malware content filtering/scanning and data loss prevention system
