We have an exciting opportunity for a part-time Student Safeguarding Practitioner based in Gobowen, Oswestry, Shropshire to join our team

The Student Safeguarding Practitioner will be responsible for the day to day operations of the safeguarding function, ensuring the safety and well-being of all young people and vulnerable adults during the college working day. The role will also provide administrative support to the Safeguarding Manager and the wider team.

- **Key Responsibilities**:_
- Ensure as far as reasonably possible the safety and wellbeing of all students, reporting any concerns through the appropriate channels.
- Ensure the safeguarding support function operates in an equal and fair manner and is highly responsive to the needs of individual students.
- Manage the ‘missing student protocol’ during college hours. Review and debrief procedures following any alert.
- Ensure that unstructured time, particularly break times, is appropriately supervised and that all students have adequate levels of support.
- Ensure that all observations of missing students, accidents, incidents and near miss (AINM) are reported in line with college policies and procedures.
- Member of the safeguarding team and able to record safeguarding concerns and advise staff accordingly.
- Support safeguarding manager with administration requirements.
- Maintain student photo database inc. student photo permissions
- Manage lost property system
- Provide daily updates to duty managers, pathway leads and practice leads
- Note taking at meetings as required.
- Completion of duty manager file and ensure paperwork is up to date.
- Inform the Admissions team of any students who are regularly not attending sessions or who have not attended for more than 5 days
- Attend safeguarding meetings and multi-disciplinary meetings as requested.
- Support students to achieve timely work attendance
- Provide information relating to students across the college
- Comply with all College Policies and Procedures.
- Undertake health and safety or safeguarding audits and checks as requested.
