Upper Gi/dysphagia Mdt Coordinator

This is an exciting role that sees the successful individual support in t he coordination of the Upper GI and Dysphagia MDT meetings.
The post-holder will be full-time cancer-focussed - this is highly valuable, visible, rewarding work that will make a real difference to our patients. The role is a combination of clinical MDT team co-ordination and meeting facilitation, where our highly-experienced cancer clinical team make decisions on patient treatment; Two-Week-Wait pathway Cancer patient tracking - to speed our patients along the cancer pathway; and NOGCA cancer audit management - to ensure our activities are in compliance.
This role requires the individual to build strong working relationships with clinical teams around the Trust, as well as other administrative teams. There is lots of opportunity to network and bring innovation into the current working processes.
The post holder will have key working relationships with all members of the administrative and clinical teams including nursing and medical staff, allied health professionals and support workers. They will act as the first point of contact (in phone and in person) in communication with patients, relatives and GPs and other external hospital staff / tertiary referrers
The key responsibility of this role is to provide administrative facilitation of the UGI MDT meetings, ensuring that colleagues from across the East Midlands are able to join. This will including preparing, organising and circulating agenda, minutes and results.
The post holder will support audits within the department, helping to gather information and maintain databases. This role requires a person with exceptional attention to detail, and experience of using databases. They will be able to communicate with a range of patients and colleagues and possess excellent team working, negotiation and organisation skills. Above all they will be committed to helping us deliver excellent patient care.
The post will involve collecting data from various sources, requiring communication with a large clinical team. The post holder will be expected to be proactive in their way of work to ensure results are chased in order to discuss patients at MDT in a timely manner. They will be responsible for escalating and troubleshooting issues and will contribute to finding proactive solutions to routine issues.
As well as this the role holder will support a number of MDT’s within the department to help the team meet local and national cancer targets. As part of this support, you will need to take minutes and ensure appropriate records are maintained. You will also help to produce reports relating to MDTs as required.
