Cancer Pathway Coordinator

An opportunity has arisen within the Cancer Centre to work within the MDT and Data team. We are recruiting for a part-time MDT coordinator on a fixed-term contract for 12 months, working with the Skin Multi-Disciplinary Team.
The role will specifically cover the MDT Coordination and Data Administration aspects shown in the job description.
The Cancer Centre manage a variety of Multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings and you will be responsible for ensuring patients are discussed at these MDT meetings with all of the appropriate clinical information, and then expedited along their pathways following the discussion. You will work across a number of different tumour sites so the role will be varied.
This role may require you to work flexibly to attend meetings that take place outside of 'core' working hours. There may be requirement to travel between City and QMC. You must be flexible enough to fit in with the requirements of the working week as it emerges.
This role is part-time (25hrs per week), Monday - Friday. Fixed-term 12 month contract.

You will also be part of a team of key contributors in collecting and recording information required by national datasets such as Cancer Waiting Times, COSD and national audits.
We are looking for people who can work as part of a team but also on their own initiative. You must be able to work accurately, at pace and in the pressured environment of fast paced clinical discussion. You need to be able to accurately record clinical information as it is discussed so excellent typing skills are desirable.
You will need to possess confidence to enable effective communication with various disciplines to ensure the highest standards of patient care. Typing and minute taking skills are essential along with the confidence to speak and manage a meeting in front of a group of people.
Initiative and a "can do" approach is vital and the versatility to accommodate changing priorities is essential.
Previous NHS experience is preferable and experience of hospital systems is advantageous.
The Cancer Centre is made up of several professional groups from senior management to admin and support staff, as well as lead cancer clinicians.
The Cancer Centre sits in the Corporate Division however our teams work across and closely with most clinical specialties across the Trust.
