**The vacancy is for our DP World London Gateway (Essex) Port. There could be a requirement to travel to our DP World Southampton Port according to business need **.

**To include duties such as**:

- Provide effective, reliable and user-friendly support, advice and assistance to members of DP World London Gateway Port, Park (logistics park adjacent to the port), Southampton Container Terminals Limited and Community Network Systems Limited (a customs approved community network services provider and subsidiary company of Southampton Container Terminals) on legal matters affecting any aspect of the DP World UK businesses;
- Review and understand all current contractual and statutory obligations and liabilities in order to assist the relevant business units to work within such parameters;
- Review, draft, negotiate and advise on a broad range of legal and commercial documents which may include (but are not limited to) lease agreements, licences, easements, heads of terms, terminal service agreements, general commercial and property agreements, construction contracts, collateral warranties, goods and services agreements, non-disclosure agreements, deeds of novation, correspondence with regulatory bodies and third parties, port terms and conditions, purchase order terms and conditions etc;
- Review and interpret existing legal agreements and obligations, including various regulations and statutory procedures/requirements in relation to those documents and obligations of the DP World business;
- Identify and analyse legal issues arising from transactions, business strategies, initiatives, and new projects. Make clear and commercially focused recommendations in respect of such issues;
- Assist in the identification, management and control of legal and related operational risks relating to all aspects of DP World London Gateway’s business;
- Review and opine on arrangements and advise business departments;
- Advise on GDPR related issues including DSARs;
- Review and assist in OJEU (EU Procurement rules) as needed;
- Assist with collateral warranties;
- Assist with internal signing practices followed by Legal and Compliance team;
- Assist in the management of external legal advisors, including the issuing of clear instructions and monitoring of legal spend;
- Keep abreast of legal developments relevant to the DP World business and ensure that the relevant team receive timely information about such legal developments and refresher training on topical issues.

The above outlined responsibilities are not exhaustive and you may be required to carry out other tasks that are appropriate to your role in addition to these.

**About you**:
**Experience**
- Strong academic achievements.
- Law Degree from an accredited university.
- Admitted to practice as a solicitor of England and Wales.
- 7 years + PQE.
- In-house / private practice experience welcomed.

**Skills**
- Good knowledge of law related to commercial contracts, commercial property transactions, general corporate, planning, construction, health and safety and environmental law is essential;
- Previous in-house experience is desirable;
- Previous experience in the shipping industry is desirable (but not essential);
- Experience providing due diligence and risk analysis;
- Excellent analytical, drafting and communication skills;
- Exceptional client liaison skills;
- Knowledge of the EU procurement rules;
- Knowledge of GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018;
- Excellent eye for detail;
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills;
- Commercial, pragmatic and pro-active outlook; and
- Ability to collate and relate facts in a simple and concise manner.
