**SBHA is seeking a Neighbourhood Housing Officer**

Salary**:£34k to £37.5k per annum

Location: Selkirk, Scottish Borders

**About the role**

We’re recruiting an experienced and effective customer focused professional to join our Community Team.

**Hours**

Full time, Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week

**About the role**

As a member of our established housing team and working within a strong performance culture, you will be responsible for delivering high quality community based housing and estate management services across a range of housing functions, including allocations, rent collection and tenancy sustainment.

**Day to day**
- Act as lead officer within the Community Team for designated SBHA neighbourhoods, championing service improvements and delivery within these areas to meet community needs,
- Provide professional housing related advice and support to all SBHA's Tenants, customers and service users
- To deliver excellent front line housing management and estate management services to SBHA’s Tenants
- To maximise the collection of rent by ensuring that timely and robust action is taken to prevent/recover rent arrears and let empty homes
- Ensure a speedy and focussed response to anti-social behaviour and other breaches of tenancy conditions.
- Promote and facilitate tenancy sustainment

**Essential skills**
- Previous experience of delivery effective housing and estate management services.
- A good understanding of relevant Housing and Benefits legislation
- A sound knowledge of resident involvement strategies and techniques
- Knowledge and understanding of housing management software
- Commitment to achieving high standards of customer service
- Resilience and ability to deal with conflict and problem solve
- Strong IT, analytical and written skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including negotiating and influencing customers, partners and stakeholders
- Team player with positive attitude and flexible approach.
- Current UK driving licence and access to car
