**Finance Assistant**

**Temporary, 6-month FTC**

**ROLE SUMMARY**

We are currently looking for a Finance Assistant to join our Finance department on a 6-month fixed term contract. You will be hands on, while overseeing the purchase ledger functions of Optos Plc. Ensuring risk areas are managed timely and lasting actions are taken to ensure procedures and processes protect the purchase ledger, GRNI & RTV areas of the General Ledger.

You will support the analytics for the Senior Financial Accountant & Financial Controller International via the timely provision of reconciliations and other general ledger-based analytics. Without direct management responsibilities ensure those resources focused on the Purchase Ledger of Plc, GMBH and France are supported in the more complex aspects of their roles, not limited to but including GRNI & RTV management/cleaning.

Co-ordinate the timing of payment runs and availability of signatories.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Processing of invoices through three-way match for Optos UK.
- Working with Supply Chain & Stores to resolve matching issues.
- Inter-Company Reconciliations.
- Balance Sheet reconciliations.
- Weekly clearing of RTV’s against GRNI.
- Preparation of Supplier Payments.
- Applications of Credit Notes to match out RTV’s.
- Prepares supplier statement reconciliations.
- Monitors supplier evaluations.
- Maintains and updates policies and procedures.
- General accounting duties.
- Administer fleet vehicles.

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**
- HND or Degree in Accountancy, or equivalent education gained through work experience.
- Previous experience in a customer focussed environment.
- Previous experience of Great Plains Dynamics system would be beneficial.
- Successful problem-solving skills in a cross functional team.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good time management skills to ensure all reports are delivered in a timely manner.
- Good attention to detail with strong ability to report accurately.
