Overview

Our Canterbury based food manufacturing client is looking for a Packaging Line Leader to join their busy team. The Line Leader with run the packing line as smoothly and efficiently as possible while following the Compliance and Health & Safety Rules.

**Salary: up to £12.50 per hour**

The Person
- To perform all start up checks for the line.
- To inform ODS, Chiller and Machine Operator on your line regarding priority of Jobs and keep them updated on any changes.
- To prepare and set up the line efficiently.
- Collect packaging and labels from the packaging store, and ensure the QC checks all labels & packaging before starting the line.
- Check the product in the wet area is the correct variety, grower and job number.
- Train the packers, check the packer and line hygiene. Inform all staff on the line about the jobs ahead and give necessary instructions.
- To complete all paperwork in a timely manner.
- Continually check the minus sheet for any updates.
- Ensure additional product & packaging is ordered in a timely manner if the job increases and is then checked by the QC before use.
- To ensure QC’s check all extra Polybags and Flow wrap samples before used in production.
- Ensure all packaging is removed from the line at the end of each job and returned to the packaging department and line is clean.
- Update the status of the job on the minus sheet as per SOP, and ensure all details & information are provided.
- Must report to the Packhouse Manager once all orders are complete.

KPIs
- Ensure all orders are completed correctly and in a timely manner.
- To ensure that all paperwork is legible and completed in full.
- To ensure that all unused packaging is returned to the print room.
- Ensure the packing line and staff are compliant with Hygiene rules at all times.
- To ensure Health & Safety rules are followed continually.
- Audit Reports for your area.
- Daily Profit and Loss Report.
- Downtime Reports.
- External & Internal Rejection Report
- Overtime and ETI Reports.
