**Contract**:Fixed Term - 12 months Maternity Cover - 37.5 hours per week

**Salary**:£24,000 - £26,000 per year

**Reporting** **to**: Tour Leader Operations Manager

**Job Brief**:
Our volunteer leaders are an essential part of our guests’ holidays, leading them on full day walks as well as hosting them and facilitating sociability from the start to the finish of the week.

Experience of working with volunteers would be advantageous. More importantly we’re after someone with a positive attitude, good organisation, and great people skills.

**Key Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Appointing a balanced team of volunteer leaders and special interest leaders to each holiday and ensuring that all vacancies are filled.
- Engaging and providing support to our leaders
- Recognising and thanking our leaders; and motivating them to succeed.
- Proactively handling issues of poor performance and other sensitive matters.

**Essential requirements**:

- Excellent people skills in managing our leaders.
- A strong work ethic and good eye for detail.
- Ability to work with others as part of a team.
- Ability to form strong trusting relationships with leaders.
- A ‘can do’ attitude and flexible approach.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines, prioritising and responding quickly to issues as they arise.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Occasional weekend and evening work would be required to meet our leaders

**Desirable requirements**:

- Previous experience of working with volunteers.
