About the Role

The core purpose of this post is to lead the coordination the WLGA’s engagement with the UK Covid-19 Inquiry. The role will also support the delivery of broader policy work, represent local government and the Welsh Local Government Association (WLGA).

This role and working on the COVID-19 Inquiry provides a unique opportunity to work at a senior level across a broad range of policy and service areas across the WLGA and local government, supporting and working with leaders, chief executives, senior legal and service professional colleagues in local government, the WLGA and the LGA.

The UK Covid-19 Inquiry is considering how well the UK was prepared for and responded to the pandemic. Local government in Wales played a significant role in responding to the pandemic and the WLGA is therefore a core participant in the Inquiry for specific modules to ensure that local government experiences and views are fully considered. The WLGA is working closely with the LGA to seek to represent the experiences and views of Welsh local government to the Inquiry.
