**Job summary**:
As Mess Curator you are responsible for the management, safekeeping, mustering, cleaning and display of all Corps and Mess Silver held and all other property held within the Officers’ Mess and for organising restoration and repairs when required. In accordance with relevant current Standing Operating Procedures and MOD policy.

You are also responsible for the sending, collection, and distribution of all official and personal mail on behalf of all Mess Members.

Responsible to the CFOM Manager via Base Sqn for the day to day running of the Silver Store,

The Mess Curator is also responsible for regular visual checks of all the fire safety equipment and the weekly Fire Control Point tests.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week

**Job description**:
To prepare, clean and pack all items required as directed by the Officers’ Mess Colour Sergeant for Official events outside Stonehouse Barracks at various venues around the UK when required. They are also required to travel with the Officers’ Mess CSgt and Corps Secretariat team to assist in the facilitating of VIP events around the UK when required. All costs and hours worked related to travel will be recompensed in accordance with the relevant extant MOD policies.

Provide occasional advice and consultation on preparation, cleaning, and repair of silver pieces to other Royal Navy and Royal Marine units when required.

Visual Fire Safety Equipment checks and Fire Call Point checks with CFOM. Record all findings and ensure all defects are reported to CFOM Manager.

Collection and distribution of Officer Mess member mail, also as directed assist with the daily running of the establishment Post Room when the Post Room Operator is on leave or absent.

Other duties as directed by day to day supervisor.
