Job Purpose
The Operational Excellence Lead will be responsible for collaborating with teams across UKIB to understand and improve operational performance whilst embedding a culture of operational excellence. They will create and deliver a roadmap of tangible initiatives and activities through influencing and leading change within a maturing organisation.

Core role accountabilities:
- Responsible for implementing UKIB's operational excellence strategy, objectives, and priorities to manage and improve the UKIB organisational performance.- Promotes a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement throughout the organisation by establishing and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve performance.- Interacts and collaborates with process owners and managers within the different teams and functions to inform requirements.- Develops and embeds the Bank’s approach to business architecture and process management.- Performs business analysis, identifying solutions and improvements to business design decisions.- Uses their expertise to create roadmaps and implement strategies to streamline work-flows, reduce waste, and enhance overall operational efficiency.- Works across teams facilitating measurement workshops to extract the detail, design and definition of performance management.- Develops positive working relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure a co-ordinated approach and smooth transition when implementing measurement systems, process improvements and any associated governance.- Works alongside the UKIB Risk & Audit teams, to deliver a roadmap of continual improvement.- Manages UKIBs approach to business resilience, ensuring proactive planning and reactive readiness.- Works with IT specialists to identify, select and integrate new technologies and software tools to enhance operational efficiency.- Provides expertise across a broad range of operational disciplines such as process architecture, improvement, measurement, and compliance in order to improve operational efficiency.- Manages the Business Continuity strategy.- Effectively communicates changes to all internal stakeholders and manages any potential resistance effectively.- Ensures key learnings and best practice are shared across the business, contributing to any training if required.- Coaches and manages the Operational Excellence Analyst, ensuring they are part of the journey and equipped to perform their role.
Knowledge, Skill and Experience requirements:
- Knowledge_- Strong experience in business process improvement and operational excellence- Experience of developing, monitoring and measuring KPI’s, and people development.- Proven successful delivery of change initiatives using project and planning methodologies.- Proven experience in leading on Business Continuity including the creating and implementing of Business Continuity Plans and the running of scenario exercises.- Experience in facilitating workshops for large numbers of stakeholders to shape plans and deliver change initiatives.
- Skills_- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and leverage data to influence decision-making.- Process mapping skills using industry standard process modelling tools e.g. BIZZ Design- Excellent communication skills, both in listening and conveying messages to a wide range of stakeholder groups as all levels.- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams with an awareness of different approaches.- Proven leadership and ability to build and sustain positive relationships at all levels of an organisation.- Strong report writing and presentation skills.- Well organised and with a high level of attention to detail.- Strong Business Analysis / Requirements skills.- Process design skills to support Target Operating Model.- Highly proficient in the use of MS Office Applications.
- Knowledge_- Working knowledge and experience of Six Sigma or similar certifications are desirable.- Proven experience in similar operational excellence roles
