**Hours and weeks **37 hours per week, term time only plus 2 (41 weeks per year).

**Salary **£24,159 - £25,868 - the salary advertised is based on working term time only plus 2 (41 weeks per year). The full time equivalent salary is £26,393 - £28,260 per annum.

**Job Purpose**:
To be responsible for the management of the catering service within the academy, including food hygiene, menus, budgets, cooking, management of staff and all day to day operations of the catering service as and when required to provide a service valued by the students.

**Responsibilities**:
**Duties and responsibilities**
- Effective management of the catering service, including all administrative work including placing orders, stock control, monitoring of food budgets and ensuring compliance with finance regulations
- To be responsible for the preparation and cooking of the school meal and delivering the food service with the support of the team
- Line manage and develop the team of catering assistants ensuring their performance is assessed in line with the Trust systems and they are supporting the Trust values and behaviours
- Assisting with recruitment and selection of catering staff and organise agency cover as required
- Organise the rotas to ensure the smooth running of the kitchen and service to students
- Ensure the catering service is compliant with regulations are met including food hygiene, HACCP, COSHH, health and safety, staff training (including mandatory training).
- Ensure the kitchen and service operate in compliance with all statutory legislation
- Assist with any extra catering requests required
- Purchase of all food products from agreed nominated suppliers
- Develop menus and recipes to suit the needs of the academy and nutritional guidelines within budget
- To be responsible for promoting the school meal service through menus and displays
- To be proactive to actively look at ways of improving the catering service
