**Public Engagement Assistant**

**Fixed term contract until October 2023**

**26 hours per week**

**Salary £14,624 - £15,160**

An opportunity to join a highly motivated Ranger team working in a beautiful heathland country park. This post will join our other Public Engagement Assistant meeting the public and improving their visitor experience. This role will be based in the Visitor Centre, answering enquiries, promoting wildlife and conservation, promoting our events, helping to run our shop. If you like meeting and engaging with people, and have a welcoming approach to customer service, then this could be just the role for you.

**What you will be doing**

Welcoming the public into the visitor centre and running the front desk, with the back up of the Ranger team.
Providing information about what to do and how to explore the park.
Serving customers in our shop.
Answering enquiries about and taking bookings for events, and getting involved in the running of some of them.
Learn about the wildlife in the park, and how we manage it through the conservation and habitat works we carry out.

**About you**

A warm, friendly and welcoming demeanour, with a great understanding of what creating a great customer experience is all about.
Good interpersonal skills.
Good written/spoken English and be able to communicate effectively.
Ability to learn and retain information, and produce accurate/quality work.
Ability to work under pressure.
