Security Controller

Facilitates the implementation of Physical and Information Security policies and procedures for all commercial and military projects within Electranet, Capita and external customers.

**Capita is Looking for a Security Controller - Field based role.**

The Security Controller will be responsible for assisting the Senior Security Controller and Electranet UK Ltd Board by interpreting, implementing and monitoring security controls as well as continuously improving the protection of Government classified assets held within the company and on contractor’s sites.

**What you’ll be doing**:

- Maintain and/or generate security procedures, manuals, processes, and instructions.
- Maintain awareness of current and emerging technologies and their impact on existing security practices.
- Collaborate with internal, and external security managers and ensure the business complies to HMG GS007 and varying customer security requirements.
- Provide security audit services covering a range of both internal, and external clients.
- Monitor and report on the delivery of physical security services against requirements, with the use of key performance indicators.
- Provide security support from project start to handover, or secure closure.
- Advise and guide Risk Owners on Risk identification and management.
- Establish and lead Security Working Groups (SWGs).
- Design, deliver and implement security awareness training.
- Implement and manage security incident processes.
- Implement and manage security visitor processes.
- Conduct investigations into breaches of security.
- Define and deliver document security procedures for protectively marked projects.

**What we’re looking for**:

- Previous experience in a security controller (or similar) role would be an advantage.
- Experience working within the Public/Defence sectors.
- Understanding of HMG GS007 (Security Policy Framework).
- Experience developing Security procedures and standards.
- Experience of managing risk at programme and project level.
- Experience of conducting personnel, physical and information security-based risk assessments, or security audits.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills - ability to communicate to all levels.
- Ability to engage and influence internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong security incident management skills.
- Knowledge of HMG vetting process and levels.
- Working knowledge of protectively marked documents/assets handling, recording & destruction.
- Working knowledge of ISO 27001.

**Desirable**:

- Certificate in Information Security Management Principles (CISMP) or Certificate in Security Management (CISM).
- ISO 27001 Auditor.
- Current knowledge of surreptitious threat mitigation process (STaMP) and protective security assessment tool (PSAT).
- Awareness of cyber security and information security principles and procedures.

**Additional information**:

- The role will require regular travel to contractor sites throughout the UK, with possible overseas visits.
- The role will be required to complete the MoD DISA Security Controllers Course
