Front of House Usher

The role of an usher is to provide a welcoming and helpful service to our patrons at The Box, and to meet the Company’s high level of customer care.
Ushers will be managed night to night by the head usher and will work closely with the stage manager and floor manager, to ensure the high level of customer experience is met. The main responsibilities of the ushers are summarised below.
- The need to ensure the comfort and safety of patrons and performers during show times
- Welcoming clients and ensure they can move around the venue smoothly
- Ensuring no photos or videos are taken of the shows
- Ensuring tables are sat appropriately for showtime
- Keeping the customers safe when we have “high skill” performer in the shows
- Making sure clients leave the building in a timely manner
- Some lifting involved at the end of the night helping take out the bins
- In case of an emergency undertaking evacuation duties
- Attend all pre-shift meetings
- Be well dressed and clean
- Any other relevant duties as required by the night manager, stage manager or head usher.
The dress code for ushers is a smart shirt, waist coat, smart trousers and smart shoes.
Rotas are done weekly and wages are paid into staff members bank accounts fortnightly.
The Box operational hours are 11pm to 4am. Ushers are required to be dressed and ready for the pre-shift meeting at 10:30pm. The Box is open Wednesday through Saturday.
Ushers are expected to show up for all shifts on time and to give a weeks notice if a day is require off (unless illness prevents this).

Part-time hours: 15-24 per week
**Salary**: £75.00 per day
