**Main Areas of Responsibility**

Your responsibilities will include:

- To support the consistent implementation of the Academy Safeguarding policy
- To provide pastoral support to students experiencing difficulties on a day-to-day basis
- To work as part of the inclusion team that responds to challenging situations where students struggle emotionally
- Delivering structured intervention in small groups and 1:1, to enable students to make positive choices about their behaviour, attendance, and social interactions in guidance with KCSIE
- To liaise with staff, parents, and relevant outside agencies to provide appropriate intervention for students experiencing disruption to their learning due to social emotional factors
- Those on plans through Children's Social Care; to develop strong links between the school, and families to improve educational opportunities for students and to promote a positive attitude towards school
- Updating the safeguarding register
- Completing student profiles
- Updating student profiles four weekly
- Attending LAC reviews
- Attending CP, CIN, TAF and TAC meetings
- Leading on Looked After Children, managing PEP's
- Attending relevant meetings and reporting any concerns to the Inclusion and Welfare Leader
- Updating CPOMS with actions and case notes
- Responding to CPOMS alerts in a timely manner
- To comply with confidentiality and safeguarding procedures
- Attend and contribute to weekly Inclusion Panel Meeting
- To ensure that all issues that relate to student safety such as allegations of bullying/child on child abuse are shared through the behaviour procedure, in a timely manner, for further investigation as required

**Qualifications & Experience**
- GCSE Maths and English at grade C or above, or equivalent
- Knowledge of the Academy Safeguarding policy
- Knowledge of KCSIE
- Knowledge of CPOMS
- Training in child protection and safeguarding procedures level 2 minimum
- Knowledge of PEPs
- First Aid training
- Experience of dealing successfully with a range of safeguarding concerns
- Experience of working with staff to ensure safeguarding procedures are met
- Experience of working with challenging students and finding ways in which we can meet their emotional needs more successfully
- Experience in delivering pastoral intervention and PHSE topics
- Experienced in working with challenging student in small group and 1:1 setting
- Experience in working with Children's Social Care and Youth Offending Service
- Experience in working with other external agencies who are supporting students and their families
- Experience in completing referrals to Children's Social Care and other support agencies
- Experience in working with Virtual School
