**The Role / Department**

The role reports to the Head of Corporate Marketing and Communications - EMEA & APAC, with a dotted line into the Director of Corporate Philanthropy based in Chicago. Under general supervision (but works independently most of the time), the Corporate Philanthropy Lead, as part of the EMEA Corporate Marketing and Communications department, will assist in the strategic planning, marketing communications, and execution of our philanthropic efforts across all EMEA locations.

**The key responsibilities of the role include**:

- Develop, direct and engage with partners across the EMEA Philanthropy Partner Network, to mobilise employee engagement, maintain engaging volunteer activities for partners and optimise philanthropy campaigns that enable partner action and promote a culture of caring.
- Consult and collaborate with regional EMEA country heads to drive employee engagement, adopting a local approach in line with corporate messaging and guidelines.
- Manage Northern Trust corporate UK sponsorship relationships which includes on-going correspondence, leveraging benefits for key internal stakeholders, conducting annual reviews and ROIs, negotiating packages, and ensuring the partnership optimizes engagement and promotes and protects the brand.
- Create and manage approvals processes around compelling EMEA Corporate Philanthropy content for RFPs, CSR Report, award submissions, and internal marketing campaigns
- Work collaboratively with the media relations team, prepare quotes for media releases around charitable initiatives and prepare messaging and quotable content for interviews around philanthropy themes.
- Develop marketing assets, including videos, intranet content, external web page(s) for use primarily by sales teams to showcase volunteering, strategic partnerships), and broader, global and regional Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and talent acquisition initiatives and collaborations.
- Manage annual budgets for Corporate Philanthropy EMEA and Asset Servicing philanthropy regionally,(including, donation allocation, corporate memberships, payments processing).
- Support global vetting process for EMEA partner charities.
- Advise around suitability of third-party endorsements and public branding awareness of Northern Trust’s regional charitable engagements and partnerships, work with media team to review brand and media profile of the third party.
- Monitor, measure and report on impact of Northern Trust’s EMEA corporate philanthropy activities and spend.
- Serve as first point of contact for partners on corporate programmes and provide technical expertise on various software programmes used by corporate philanthropy.
- Research and analyse trends in the corporate philanthropy industry to determine the appropriate positioning and marketing communications activities that will promote and protect the bank’s reputation and profile around charitable engagement, and keep up-to-date facts and figures to support messaging.

**Additional Marketing Communications support include**:

- Support logistics and coordination of EMEA internal and external events which include, but not limited too, employee all-staffs, client engagement events, and sports and social activities. Events may be virtual, live or hybrid.
- Support drafting, review and approval processes, and distribution of internal communications across EMEA region. This may include liaising with senior stakeholders to determine audience and resultant administration activities such as sourcing and coordinating distribution lists.
- Project manage and produce video assets in collaboration with business units and functional channels. This may also include participating in the creation of videos through script preparation, consulting with spokespeople and filming.
