**Qualifications / Training**

Catering & Hospitality 7061 /7062 or NVQ 2. Catering Hospitality

Level 2 Award in Food Hygiene

Level 2 HACCP

Full UK Driving licence (desirable)

The role will be working in Wakefield Hospice working as a cook.

The Duties:
1. Carry out cooking and catering duties in accordance with the Hygiene standards set by the Hospice.

2. Display a positive approach to service users, staff and visitors to ensure an excellent customer service experience.

3. Ensure that all food is provided at the correct time and to the standard specified by the catering manager at both sites.

4. Ensure that the standards agreed with the catering manager are upheld and staff are trained to issue a consistent portion size and quality for all meal choices

5. Ensure that functions and diary entries are updated when required and accurate to reflect functions and training etc.

6. Ensure that the FSMS is correctly completed in good / real time to ensure an accurate HACCP trail.

7. Ensure that the agreed systematic opening and closing of the kitchen is done and recorded as per instruction.

8. Ensure the preparation, cooking, serving and despatch of all types of main meals are to the agreed high standard as demonstrated by the catering manager.

9. Ensure the preparation of light snacks, sandwiches, light meals, salads and beverages are carried out to the agreed high standard as demonstrated by the catering manager.

10. Ensure high standards of cleanliness and hygiene are practiced in all catering areas at all times.

11. Report any defective or hazardous items / equipment to the catering manager or Facilities manager in his absence.

12. Be
- aware and support the role of volunteers in the Hospice and understand the constraints on their role.

13. Maintain the records of meals served and of the quality of food used and temperatures of the food offered and served.

14. Carry out any other reasonable request to strengthen the facilities team position within the Hospice.

21. Ensure high standards of cleanliness and hygiene are practiced in all areas at all times.

**Health and Safety**

1. To provide a safe environment that protects all staff, volunteers and the public.

2. To comply with all Health and Safety regulations as per Wakefield Hospice’s Health and Safety Policies.

3. Responsible for completing monthly risk assessments and specific risk assessments.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 37.5 per week

**Salary**: £10.89-£11.50 per hour
