ROLE PURPOSE:
This new role will be responsible for managing timely, relevant, and consistent investment commentaries and related written content for Impax’s clients and distribution partners. It will suit an individual who is fascinated by understanding and articulating how short-term market flows and longer-term sustainable investment themes impact portfolio positioning and decision making.

Partnering closely with the Portfolio Specialists team, the role is responsible for managing Impax’s quarterly investment commentary materials, including coordination, editing and data verification. The role will also coordinate the production of a new stream of content that is focused on positioning Impax’s investment strategies relative to event and market-driven moments.

The Senior Investment Writer, Portfolio Commentary will also create and curate a new suite of papers to act as sales aids to support the investment case for Impax’s growing range of strategies within Listed Equities, Fixed Income and Private Markets. They will work closely and proactively with colleagues in Distribution and Marketing to identify opportunities to create new multi-media content to help optimise Impax’s product positioning.

The role is part of the Insights team, which sits within Corporate Communications and Client Service & Business Development. As part of the Insights team, the Senior Investment Writer, Portfolio Commentary will support colleagues in the drafting and production of chart-led blogs, articles, reports and videos that demonstrate Impax’s specialism in the opportunities related to the transition to a more sustainable economy, with a key focus on adapting resources and content to meet client needs.

The role will contribute to addressing the increasingly extensive and complex reporting and content requirements driven by increased regulations, client interest and industry norms. The role will also have a key objective to improve efficiency and explore opportunities to increase automation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Key responsibilities include:

- Lead the centralised co-ordination, writing, editing and delivery of investment strategy commentaries.
- Working with key internal stakeholders to continue to automate and standardise the investment commentary processes, including exploring opportunities to use artificial intelligence.
- Write and edit engaging and informative content focused on the transition to a more sustainable global economy, targeting a global audience of institutional investors, fund selectors and financial intermediaries, including financial advisors and consultants.
- Participate in Impax’s Insights editorial and working groups, which include senior representatives from across the business globally, and provides strategic oversight of content generation.
- Provide writing and editorial support for key reports, e.g. Impact Report, Stewardship & Advocacy Report, TCFD Report, Annual Report.
- Deputise for the Editor, Insights as and when required.

Key deliverables include:

- Co-ordination, writing and editing of globally centralised investment strategy commentary to support Monthly, Quarterly, Semi-Annual and Annual reports for all client and product channels across Impax.
- Working with colleagues, coordinate quarterly Impax corporate updates for client reports.
- Develop timely and compelling client content (“Market Movers" series), positioning Impax’s investment capabilities in the context of specific market environment or events.
- Curate, write and edit a suite of sales aid papers and present related multimedia content outlining the investment case for Impax’s range of strategies within Listed Equities, Fixed Income and Private Markets
- Collaboration with key stakeholders to ensure accuracy of messaging, alignment of content with business priorities and timely delivery.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE:

- Experienced writer who can write efficiently, accurately and succinctly, and meet strict deadlines.
- Excellent communications and relationship management skills; able to earn respect and trust among business partners and team members, and to deal effectively at all levels of the organisation.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to drive new initiatives and advise senior stakeholders.
- Strong project management and organisational skills, detail-oriented and deadline-driven while maintaining a big picture view.
- Background in journalism, data journalism or investment writing preferred.
- Ability to translate complex ideas into compelling, differentiated and news-driven content.
- Demonstrable interest in sustainable investing
- Demonstrable knowledge in the asset management industry
- Some broadcast experience, including presenting preferred.
- Working knowledge of Seismic would be beneficial.
- Above average quantitative abilities and technology aptitude
