£14 per hour

Role Overview

You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team - showing flexibility of shared tasks to ensure that we provide the best quality service in a pleasant environment for both staff and patients. You’ll help to provide and maintain efficient administrative and reception services for the Radiology Department, ensuring that a high-quality service is delivered to patients, staff and Consultants.

What you’ll do:

- Take bookings for Diagnostic Imaging examinations and give patients precise and accurate preparation instructions.
- Take and give accurate information over the telephone and to have an efficient telephone manner.
- Advise the Administration Lead of any problems within the department and to handle minor complaints with immediate action and a thorough follow up.
- Ensure that effective booking, information, reporting and filing systems are maintained and developed on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
- Check bookings scheduled for following day and obtain request forms to ensure efficient patient journey.
- Create and maintain good working relationships with all members of the Department of Diagnostic Imaging, liaising regularly with the Administration Manager to form a cohesive team, working together to provide an exemplary service.
- Promote good relations with referring clinicians, other hospital departments and outside organisations to ensure that the reputation of the Department of Diagnostic Imaging and the Bupa Cromwell Hospital is upheld.
- Complete and maintain a high standard of administrative / reception support to the Radiology department.
- Prioritise workload at all times to maintain the standards expected by referrers, Radiologists and staff, particularly where urgent information is required.
- Ensure that patient confidentiality is not breached.
- Assist in the orientation of new staff (either permanent, bank or agency) to the Department, providing help and support with the equipment and database operation.
- Take information from patients in a polite and friendly manner, updating patient details at each appointment, inputting all information accurately onto the computer system according to Hospital procedures.
