Role Description
We are looking for a Engineering Group Leader to join our team in Windmill Lane, Southall.
You will be required to support the PSM in delivering the maintenance strategy working closely with the Engineering Lead to ensure that the site plant and equipment is available, reliable and meets all business requirements utilising the site CMMS and the groupmaintenance strategy to deliver a world class maintenance engineering department
This role will be site based.
Key Accountabilities
- Oversee the day-to-day engineering maintenance team function
- Lead the day-to-day delivery of the Group Maintenance Strategy through the site maintenance engineering team
- Lead & direct a team of multi-skilled engineers to deliver and exceed targeted KPI's, focussed on a comprehensive preventative maintenance programme.
- Liaise with all engineering and production management on site regarding processing all maintenance engineering matters.
- Identify and be aware of training and development needs within the engineering team, arrange and support training where required.
- Manage the Contractor Control during the shift including Permit to Work
- Identify, prioritise, plan and schedule production stream maintenance activities.
- Support team with root cause identification and solutions designed to prevent repeated failures using lean tools and techniques.
- Liaise with department streams through Kaizens, understanding issues and setting plans to resolve
Skills and Experience
- Recognised qualification (NVQ level 3 or equivalent) in mechanical or electrical engineering
- Significant, relevant experience - obtained at least 5 years' experience within a Manufacturing Company preferably FMCG
- Excellent leadership skills required with demonstrable history of leading change and influencing people to deliver sustainable results
- Strong knowledge of maintenance management and project management
- Can demonstrate a systematic approach to Health & Safety, Environmental Management and Planned Maintenance and Asset Management.
- Motivated by the challenge of continuous improvement and changing environment
- Good organisational, proven budgetary control & time management skills
- Proficient with CMMS systems, project management systems and ability to read / interpret drawings.
- Able to prioritise, adaptable to change and able to implement new changes in a constructive manner consistent with a fast-paced environment
