A rare and exciting opportunity has come up to join our integrated Therapy and Housing Adaptation service in Wirral, working alongside Occupational therapists, technical officers, and customer support staff. This is an opportunity to improve your skills knowledge and experience. You will be identifying people's needs and supporting them to have essential adaptations to improve their daily lives, to enable safety, promote wellbeing and enable independence, and also enabling carers to support individuals to achieve their daily living needs and enable access to the community. The Occupational Therapy (OT) service in Adult Social care provides high quality person centred occupational therapy assessments, to people in their own homes, enabling people to maximise their independence within the home environment.

You will be providing support to the existing OT team, in the housing adaptation service. Identifying a person's needs for assessment, for risk reduction, and assessing people's needs for equipment, and adaptations under the Disabled Facilities Grant criteria, local housing grant criteria and local equipment service provision criteria.

You will be supervised and supported by experienced therapists and a team leader, to help you develop skills confidence and your abilities. There are regular monthly team meetings for all of the OT service, service specific weekly meetings, practical training including trusted assessor equipment training, in house training from Therapists across the OT service, and demonstrations of products from company reps. If you want a change of direction in your career as an assistant in health and social care or are already assessing people's needs for equipment but want to learn more about adaptations, then this role is for you.
