We have an exciting opportunity for a Junior sister/charge nurse to join a plastics and reconstructive surgery unit in a private hospital in Marylebone. The Plastics & Reconstructive Surgery Unit consists of 16 rooms all with en-suite facilities. They providesurgical care to patients with a range of diagnostics from the different specialties, including Plastics and Reconstructive, Breast Surgery, Bariatric Surgery, Inpatient ENT and Ophthalmology as well as Investigative Procedures.

This is a full-time, permanent position, working 37.5 hours per week.
Shifts: Long Days & Nights including Weekends.

**Junior sister/charge nurse Job Role**:
As a Sister/Charge Nurse, you will assist the manager in ensuring the department is efficiently and effectively managed at all times, and be responsible for delivery of the highest standards of care and services.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Undertake a case load of patients, planning, implementing and evaluating care needs whilst providing individualised patient care of the highest standard.
- Provide leadership and motivation and promote high standards of Plastic and Reconstructive surgical nursing practice.
- Supervise staff in the delivery of care, as well as identify, develop and support staff training needs.
- Plan staff duty rotas to ensure economical, effective staff patient allocation whilst including internal rotation.
- Contribute to the planning and implementation of the department budget and business plan as well as participation in Audit and Incident management.

**Skills & Experience Required**:

- Registered Nurse with valid NMC pin.
- Post registration experience of Plastic & Reconstructive surgery nursing.
- Working in breast care management would be desirable.
- Experience in supervision of trained staff and students with the ability to motivate others to promote the ongoing development of plastic surgery nursing.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a proactive approach to practice, and the ability to prioritise own workload effectively and work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
