Morpeth, United Kingdom National Trust Full time

Are you creative with a passion for communications and marketing? Can you tell stories that will demonstrate our impact and inspire people to get involved? We’re seeking a Communications & Marketing Officer to join our team at Wallington.

This is an exciting role for someone looking to develop their career in communications and marketing and with a passion for nature, heritage, and communities. The role will be varied and challenging but you'll be supported by great property colleagues and the Trust’s wider regional marketing team. We're always busy and this role will suit someone who thrives in a changing and creative environment.

Hours: 22.5 hours per week

**Salary**: £24843 FTE

Contract: 18 months

Interviews: 13th and 14th May.

What it's like to work here:Wallington is set in the middle of Northumberland approximately twenty miles north-west of the city of Newcastle upon Tyne. The house, at the south end of an estate, which extends to nearly 13,500 acres, is surrounded by parkland and arable farmland watered by northern tributaries of the river Wansbeck. From the house the land rises to the estate village of Cambo, and then on to poorer upland grazing, peaking at Hemmel Hill in Harwood Forest (330 metres, 1083 ft) towards the north of the estate. Shaftoe Crag is prominent in southern views from the estate; to the east Rothley Crag, topped by a folly castle, guards the road to Scotland; and to the north and west are the Simonside Hills and the Cheviots. In its glorious countryside setting Wallington survives, one of the great estates of the north, owned by a single family, loved and embellished by succeeding owners for nine generations and gifted to the National Trust in 1941 by Sir Charles Philips Trevelyan.

What you'll be doing:Reporting to the Wallington’s Senior Communications & Marketing Officer, you’ll work alongside property colleagues to develop and share key messages through various communications channels. As a priority, the team is keen to find innovative ways to attract greater visitor numbers and encourage repeat visits.

Wallington is the largest intact estate in the care of the National Trust, and we are working on ambitious, landscape-scale nature recovery projects through our ‘Wilder Wallington’ programme, which last year included the reintroduction of beavers to Northumberland for the first time in over 400 years.

Your role will play a vital part in bringing this work to life for our visitors and supporters. You'll have fresh ideas and a creative approach to sharing the stories of all the parts of our property from conservation to commercial and everything in between. You’ll also be responsible for promoting events and seasonal programming across a range of marketing platforms including social media and the property's website.

This is a varied and stimulating role, you'll enjoy working at pace and liaising with people. No two days will be the same.
