The General Stores at Chelsea is a small busy team responsible for the day-to-day stock management for clinical and non-clinical areas, we are looking for conscientious proactive individual to join that team.
- The primary responsibility of the Materials Management Storekeeper Clerk is to provide support to the Materials Management and internal receipting and distribution services.
- The Materials Management Storekeeper Clerk will understand the requirements of the organisation and develop the service to meet changing organisational needs to ensure wards and departments continue to receive the right products in good time in order to maintain operational effectiveness and patient safety.
- The role provides a 'top-up' service directly to wards and departments in accordance with 'Materials Management' best practice, supporting clinical staff in the delivery of first-class patient care - ensuring products are available in the right place, at the right time, and in the right quantity.
- The Materials Management Storekeeper Clerk will be an integral part of sourcing, procuring and ordering goods and products in partnership with and on behalf of key stakeholders both internally and with partnering organisations.

- Responsible for ensuring availability of consumables at pre-agreed levels by

carrying out physical checks and replenishing stock on a weekly basis for each ward/department.
- Orders are placed primarily with the NHS Logistics Authority electronically, and also with other suppliers in hard copy form.
- Required to drive Stores vans to deliver goods to Trust locations in the community, driving in a safe and professional manner at all times.
- Replenish stock by scanning bar-coded catalogues using a hand-held Personal Digital Assistant, the data from which is then uploaded to a networked PC, checked for accuracy and processed.
- Unload consumables from roll-cages and tote boxes, checking for accuracy, putting away in designated areas and removing roll-cages and containers from the ward/department to a less intrusive location to keep access clear.
- Keep ward/department storage areas tidy, ensuring products are in the correct location so they are easily found by clinical staff, and disposing of rubbish and empty boxes/containers.
