**JOB ROLE**
You will be reporting to the Head of Finance and working within the Finance & Resources Directorate.
Your main responsibilities will be to:
- To work with the Finance team to review, enhance and automate systems to ensure better levels of productivity.
- Ensure the maintenance and enhancements of budgetary control in your areas of responsibility, including liaising with budget holders to continually monitor spend to budget and performance against target.
- Work with the Finance team to ensure that fixed asset records are accurately accounted for and maintained, including any automation. Fixed assets include Soha’s new and existing housing stock and other fixture and fittings.
- Ensure a robust system of internal control is maintained and working effectively in a timely manner.
**KEY DUTIES**
- To assist with the preparation of the annual budget and monthly performance report.
- Provide a Finance Business Partner service and liaise with relevant managers across the business to improve financial accountability and provide relevant information for decision making and business needs.
- Liaise with budget holders to investigate and resolve queries.
- For housing fixed assets, take the lead by working with the Development and Planned maintenance teams to ensure that the financial framework provides accurate records.
- Have a good oversight of the treasury management function. Ensure that interest and capital repayments are made in line loan agreements.
- Ensure monthly reconciliations of all internal controls are carried out and supporting documentation is maintained.
- To work with the team in facilitating effective internal audit and external audit as well as ad hoc consultancy reviews as required.
- Any other duties as required.
**What you will need**
- A recognised professional (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent);
- Excellent people management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly and simply
- Analytical skills to include a logical, structured and imaginative approach to problem solving with good business and project analysis skills
- Experience of working flexibly and contributing to continuous change, business improvement and adding value to the business
- A strong track record of team management in a customer facing organisation, including leading the provision of all financial planning, budgeting and accounting services
- A good understanding of accounting systems with up to date technical knowledge
- Self-motivated often working under pressure with ability to meet deadlines and targets. It would also be nice to have
- Experience within the social housing sector - Up to date skills in using technology, systems and relevant software at advanced level
