The UKAEA Special Techniques Group is a leading organization in the field of fusion energy, and we are seeking a skilled Strategic People Business Partner to join our team. As a key member of our Directorate Leadership Team, you will play a pivotal role in developing department/programme/business unit people plans aligned to the business priorities and UKAEA mission and goals.

Job Overview

Fusion energy is one of the most promising options for generating cleaner, carbon-free energy that our world badly needs. Our goal is to bring fusion electricity to the grid, supported by tomorrow's power stations. We are looking for an experienced Business Partner with significant experience in HR disciplines or generalist background, who can advise on EDI, Pay and Reward, OD&D, ER, and L&D.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting the Directorate Leadership Team in developing department/programme/business unit people plans aligned to the business priorities and UKAEA mission and goals.
  • Working closely with the Director of People and People colleagues in L&D, TA, and Pay & Reward, ensuring current and future capability requirements are met.
  • Acting as the strategic People lead for assigned departments/programmes/business units, including responsibility for instigating, managing, and implementing strategic projects from scoping and design to delivery and realization.
  • Championing diversity and inclusion in all aspects of the role.
  • Delivering important business intelligence to colleagues in the People Department to inform service improvements, working collaboratively to enable the development and implementation of those improvements.

We estimate the salary for this role to be around £59,723 + excellent benefits package, including a pension scheme, corporate bonus scheme up to 7%, and flexible working options. The job requires employees to complete an online Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check.
