Marketing and Events Executive

KG Direct Hire are pleased to be supporting a Chelmsford civil engineering business with the recruitment of a Marketing and Events Executive.
**About us**:
We are a multi-discipline contractor, specialising in full-service highway and public space maintenance, improvement and construction; delivering services to London Boroughs, Local Authorities and the supply chain. Our core services include road surfacing,reactive maintenance, highway maintenance, highway engineering, surface treatments, winter maintenance, bridge installation, structure maintenance, cliff stabilisation, gully cleansing, traffic management, street lighting, emergency call outs, road marking,and urban redevelopment.
**Overall purpose**:
Reporting to the Head of Marketing and Communications, the role is to organise and execute internal and external events whilst supporting the marketing team with general marketing activities.
**Key accountabilities**:
- To support the Companies internal events from small groups of up to 600 people, e.g company stand down days, internal awareness events, employee forums and away days
- To support our Social Values Team with their events taking place at schools, colleges and job fairs
- To support our external events including meet the buyer and conferences
- To create marketing material and presentations for events (and general marketing)
- To liaise with venues and other providers
- To research and visit venues where necessary
- To manage corporate gifts including items for new starters and thank you packs, whilst coming up with innovative and creative ideas
- To manage and purchase corporate workwear for events
- To update the company website with images and news articles
- To update social media channels and create content as and when required
- To update internal news board and send out regular news updates
- Visit company sites across Essex and London to take photos of our work as and when required
- To manage the departments shared image library
**Personal Specification**:
- Two years experience gained in a varied marketing role
- A good understanding of SEO to help improve website performance
- Experience in organising events
- Excellent professional English language and copywriting skills
- The ability to plan and cost events
- IT skills: Adobe Design Suite and Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint are all things we would ideally like to see some experience in.
