**Role**:
The Sustainability Specialist will be part of a team responsible for the management of our UK land and mineral portfolio ensuring that we maximise the efficient use of our assets and secure future mineral supply and processing capabilities as part of our long-term mineral development plan.

Reporting to the Sustainability Manager, we are looking for someone who enjoys a diverse role covering a wide range of development activities within the planning, estates and environmental development sphere. You will regularly engage with stakeholders and the community in bringing forward new and existing mineral developments in an environment where you can learn about the mining and minerals industry.

**Responsibilities**
- Implement and support the strategic planning permitting and environmental permitting and compliance process at all Sibelco UK sites.
- Project management of Sibelco planning projects and associated Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs).
- Liaise with operational colleagues on sustainability issues.
- Implement policies, guidelines and strategies from Global Sustainability relating to Environmental, Social Governance
- Engage with different stakeholders in the permitting processes and throughout the lifecycle of site. Play a pro-active role in community engagement.
- Assist with the management of land holdings (freehold and leasehold), working with landlords and landowners in order to securing the long term future of mineral supply in the UK.
- Assist with the maintenance of the land and asset Terrier database and ensure this information is represented in the company land register.

**Requirements**:

- Relevant degree level qualification in Town Planning, Estates Management/Surveying, Environmental Management or similar
- Minimum 3 years work experience in planning, estates or environmental development field.
- Strong communication and project management skills supported by a good working knowledge and within minerals and related development.
- Understanding of estates management particularly landlord and tenant as well as legislation in relation to mineral property.
- Experience of working in or consulting to an extractive industry or relevant heavy industry

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £40,000.00-£48,000.00 per year
