About Us

Snowdonia National Park Authority protects the natural beauty, wildlife and cultural heritage of Snowdonia National Park. Covering 823 miles of diverse landscape, the Park is home to over 26,000 people, the highest mountain in Wales and England and the largest natural lake in Wales.

We are now looking for a Planning Officer to join us for a full-time, permanent basis.

The Role

As a Planning Officer, you’ll ensure the effective delivery of our planning services, focusing on compliance aspects, and provide advice on the Planning Acts, the Environment Act and other relevant legislation.

Presenting reports to the Planning and Access Committee, Inspection Panels and Working Groups, you will prepare statements for appeals and represent the Authority at hearings and public inquiries.

**Additionally, you will**:

- Act as an eye witness where required
- Carry out investigations into all alleged breaches of planning control
- Contribute to the development of planning compliance strategies and policies
- Represent the Authority in meetings
- Keep up to date with legislation, policy and best practice

About You

**To be considered as a Planning Officer, you will need**:

- Experience of rural planning
- The ability to read and understand building plans
- IT literacy
- A relevant degree-level qualification
