Role: Procurement Specialist
Location: Tonbridge
Hours: 7:30 - 16.30

**Salary**: £30,000pa - £40,000pa (DOE)
Our client, a rapidly expanding manufacturer with an excellent reputation for high-quality goods, is looking to recruit a Procurement Specialist to join their team on a permanent basis.
Your role will include:

- Managing all aspects of purchasing to efficiently and cost-effectively support all departments.
- Placing purchase orders, creating effective global supply chain solutions, delivering savings through negotiation & supply chain cost reduction, developing suppliers' agreements, and building co-operative relationships with suppliers and customers.

**Responsibilities**:

- Timely place purchase orders for raw materials and packing items, at the most competitive prices
- Adjust minimum / maximum stock levels on Sage based on usage, demand, and lead times, and evaluate Sage reports for timely placements of orders
- Conduct research to source the best products and suppliers in terms of value, quality, support, delivery schedules, and reliability
- Negotiate prices, minimum order quantities, and agree contracts (e.g., call-offs) with suppliers, monitoring the quality of service provided
- Monitor and forecast inventory (in conjunction with other departments), and identify purchasing needs and costs
- Ensure all items are purchased and delivered within budget and time constraints
- Manage risk relating to quality, cost, delivery, and supply of purchases
- Monitor and reduce procurement costs while improving operating efficiency
- Develop strategies to ensure that cost savings and supplier performance targets are met
- Establish and implement purchasing policies, procedures, and best practices in collaboration with the management team.
- Build and maintain good working relationships with new and existing suppliers
- Create suppliers' agreements and perform audits at the suppliers' premises when required
- Address supply and delivery issues when they arise
- Assist with booking in and matching goods with paperwork
- Assist Accounts to resolve invoice queries
- Adjust and amend landed costs in Sage to reflect freight costs & spot rates
Skills Needed:

Qualifications:

- Experience in supply chain management/logistics
- Eye for detail and high level of accuracy needed.
