The Buyer will be responsible for supporting the strategic management of commodity purchases as well as other goods and services through effective demand planning, supplier management, and negotiation. This position requires a highly analytical mindset and the ability to monitor various metrics and insights to identify profitable actions.

**Duties include**:

- Providing timely and accurate information/data to support the development of the procurement strategy.
- Managing and developing supplier relationships and conducting ongoing negotiations & cost reductions.
- Raising, placing, and tracking purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of materials and goods.
- Demand forecasting using historical data, market trends and sales pipeline information.
- Reporting to the sales team of any potential stock issues or delays.
- Extensively monitoring stock levels, order progressions, and usage patterns to ensure material availability.
- Dealing with invoice queries promptly ensuring discrepancies are dealt with to avoid delaying payments to suppliers.
- Liaising with the operations department & stock controller regarding stock discrepancies and inbound stock
- Participating in other projects and tasks as required.

**Qualifications and Skills**

Proven experience as a Buyer, Purchasing Agent, or Procurement Specialist.

Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills with suppliers, customers, and colleagues.

Analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven procurement decisions.

Proficiency in using procurement and inventory management software.

Knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory requirements related to procurement.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
